Sometimes when faced with difficult problems, circumstances and challenges in life, we all struggle with thoughts, feelings and emotions. Our relationships to others can suffer, and the world can feel like a difficult place to live in. As a Counselling Psychologist, I specialise in providing a flexible range of counselling, psychotherapy, and psychological therapy, which can be tailored to your individual therapeutic, and / or coaching needs. My aim is to provide a comfortable space for you to talk in confidence about what is going on in your life, and to provide you with the opportunity to explore and work through things in your own time. Whether you simply want to talk, discuss and review things, or to explore and work with your thoughts, feelings, emotions and behaviour in more detail, or in more active ways, is completely up to you.  What is important is that you are able to feel comfortable and confident in the work that we do together. This is why the therapy I provide is closely matched to fit your personality type, so that you are able to gain the most from your therapy experience.  


The main counselling therapeutic approaches I incorporate within my practice include: Psychodynamic Psychotherapy; Existential - Phenomenological Psychotherapy; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT); Relaxation training using computerised Bio-Feedback technology, Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR), Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Cognitive Hypnotherapy. Cognitive Hypnotherapy & NLP Coaching:

I am writing about Hypnotherapy and NLP separately to the counselling, psychotherapy, and psychological therapy section above. This is because sometimes people are wary of Hypnosis and NLP because of what they have seen on television and media, and are afraid that they will be controlled or manipulated in some way. This could not be further from the truth, and is one of the great misconceptions about these therapies. As a counselling Psychologist, I find that Cognitive Hypnotherapy and NLP provides incredibly effective ways of enabling people to relax into their optimum state for learning, and implement positive life affirming change for themselves. Counselling & Psychotherapy Supervision:

My work as a Counselling Psychologist includes providing supervision both to qualified Counsellors and Psychotherapists as well as students in training. Please feel free to send me an e-mail with any questions you may have about obtaining supervision or booking supervision either at any of my locations, or via the Internet using Skype.

Telephone / Skype / Counselling:

In a high speed society like ours time is often of the essence - therefore Telephone or Skype Counselling, Psychotherapy & Coaching may provide the ideal solution if you are restricted by geographical location, mobility, or have transport problems. You may simply prefer using the telephone over meeting someone face to face. Telephone Counselling is a flexible way of accessing help when you need it the most. Telephone sessions can last up to 50 minutes. You are more than welcome to break our telephone contact down into shorter segments of time to suit your individual needs. You can purchase Telephone Counselling sessions by the hour in advance by using PayPal secure online payments to the left. E-mail Counselling / Coaching Package:

The Internet has become the medium of choice these days for all sorts of communication, so why not for Counselling, Psychotherapy & Coaching. Internet Therapy or ‘e-Therapy’, although no replacement for meeting a Counsellor or Psychotherapist face to face, can provide the ideal solution for accessing therapy when you need it the most - especially if you are restricted by geographical location, mobility or have transport problems. You may simply prefer or find it easier to work therapeutically through writing rather than through meeting someone face to face - as with traditional talking therapies. One of the advantages of e-mail therapy is that because the work that we do together is in text it can be reviewed and reflected upon whenever you want in your own time. This can help develop deeper levels of understanding between our contacts and even after our contact has ended. Please feel free to call me or send me an e-mail with any questions you may have about how e-mail therapy works. I do not charge for the first couple of e-mail exchanges. However, please limit each document length to a maximum of two pages in length per e-mail attachment. If you decide you would like to continue with your e-mail counselling / coaching, you can purchase this service by using the PayPal online payments to the left. Once payment has been received, I will personally respond by annotating your e-mails and documents. Maximum of two e-mails per week or you can spread the correspondence over a longer period. Couple Counselling / Relationship Therapy:

Have you lost that loving feeling? Group Therapy:


Group Therapy can take many forms. Group Therapy can be where individual come together to work on problems or challenges that they share. Group Therapy can take place with colleagues or friends that want to explore and enhance relationships. Are you looking for group therapy, but cannot find the kind of therapy group that suits your needs? If you are interested in organising a therapy group - I would be happy to develop a therapy program that is tailored to your needs. Are you and your friends or colleagues experiencing problems with communication and interpersonal relationships - problems that you are unable to resolve? Is the work environment where you spend much of your life far from harmonious? If so you are probably aware that efficiency, productivity and enjoyment would be enhanced if only communication and interpersonal relationships within the group could be improved. If you would like help with improving interpersonal relationships within your business, organisation, recreation or sport - why not think about introducing the idea of organising a therapy group. Family Therapy / Counselling:

The family is often where we turn when things get difficult in our lives. However, the family can also present what can feel like insurmountable problems  especially during times of personal change. One thing is certain change happens whether it is desired or not. Family members naturally develop different needs and wants that are difficult to express to family. Marriage, infertility, infidelity, unplanned pregnancy, serious illness, disability, childhood issues and the struggle with growing up, sexuality, changing relationships and responsibilities, issues around multicultural relationships, or the death of a partner, parent or child. There are  many ways that family life can provoke unexpected ways of coping amongst family members. It can be difficult for members of the family to communicate with one another, adapt to changing circumstances, and move forward in more positive and constructive ways. Deep Relaxation Coaching:

Relaxation Coaching focuses on helping you to relax using experiential exercises to de-stress and integrate body and mind. Life in the modern world can be hectic, stressful and exhausting - both physically and mentally. Over time our bodies and minds become accustomed to living in heightened states of stress and anxiety. Living at heightened levels of stress and anxiety often result in the adoption of unhealthy lifestyles, living habitually and less creatively. When the time comes to relax it is often difficult to switch off - you may have experienced times when you have had problems sleeping, felt fatigued or have suffered from feeling completely exhausted and burnt out.
